Conrad Hubert invents the first handheld flashlight.

Conrad Hubert renames his company The American Ever Ready ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø.

The American Ever Ready ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø becomes part of National Carbon ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø. Hubert stays on as president. The trademark is shortened to EVEREADY ®.
